About us
Who runs this, and how it’s checked.
Every listing checked against the operator’s own information, every photograph dated, every number sourced. Here is who does that, and how.
From the CEO
Stay active. Stay connected. Have a say.
Anya Gupta — CEO, docklands.community
Anya Gupta is the CEO of docklands.community. Before this she led a youth initiative with a group of friends, auspiced by the charity Saras.Care — a series of workshops, and a podcast the young people designed and recorded themselves. No episode has been released yet.
Her message to young people in Docklands is the one above: stay active, stay connected, and have a say. docklands.community is that message with a postcode attached.

The project
docklands.community is a community project of Saras.Care, a Melbourne charity, made with and for the people of postcode 3008. It is led by Anya Gupta with the young people who run it. Saras.Care has worked in this postcode since 2021, when it ran the first Diwali at Docklands.
How listings are checked
Every listing across this site was verified against the operator's own published information before it went up. Anything we could not verify was left off rather than guessed at. Attendance figures are attributed to whoever counted them.
Hours, dates and programs change. Confirm with the operator before you travel. If something here has closed or changed, tell us and we’ll fix it, usually the same day.
About the images
The Docklands scenes on this site were taken in Docklands on 5 September 2026 — Harbour Esplanade, Victoria Harbour and Marvel Stadium. The program photographs in We have run this before were taken at the Docklands Community Hub on 12 January 2025, and the Melbourne Diwali launch photograph at the 2024 launch. Two pictures are stills from video we recorded ourselves — the D-Zone launch on 19 July 2024, and the podcast crew in December 2025. No stock photography, no generated images.
If you have photographs of your own Docklands programs and want them used here, send them and we will credit you.
Where the numbers come from
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land and waters on which Docklands sits, and pay respect to their Elders past and present.
Corrections and citizen journalism
We will have got something wrong.
Everything here was checked against the operator’s own information before it went up. That is not the same as being right. Programs change, prices move, groups fold, and a site run by a handful of people will always have missed something. If a listing is wrong, out of date or simply not here, tell us and we will fix it, usually the same day. You do not need to be sure — tell us anyway and we will check.
And if you would rather do the reporting yourself: please do. Photograph what happens in 3008. Write up the thing you went to. Tell us what was actually said at the meeting you sat through. This is a community record, and it is better with your account of it in it than without. Send it and we will publish it with your name on it, or without, as you prefer.
